A Suffield lawn care company with a short service radius, a schedule published in March, and no interest in selling you a program that cannot work.
Town Green is a Suffield lawn care company. We fertilize, we control weeds and pests, and when a lawn is genuinely past saving we tear it out and install a new one. That is the whole business.
We do not mow, we do not plow, and we do not do landscape design. Each of those is a real trade that deserves somebody doing it full time, and bolting them on would mean doing all of it about seventy percent as well. We would rather be the company you call for four things and get four things done properly.
Every New England town has a green at its centre. Suffield’s runs along High Street past the meetinghouse and the academy, and it has been mowed, walked across and taken for granted for roughly three centuries without ever needing to advertise itself. That is the standard we are aiming at: turf that looks maintained rather than treated.
The mark on the trucks is a town marker — the cast plaque at the edge of a common, with the meetinghouse and the two houses that face it, and the green itself as a band along the base. Civic signage rather than lawn-care advertising, which seemed like the right vocabulary for a company with this name.
The season’s dates are set in March and you get them in writing. We text the day before each visit and leave a note after it saying what went down and what we saw. That is not a courtesy — it is the only way you can tell whether the timing is being respected, and timing is most of what separates a program that works from one that does not.
If weeds break through between rounds, call. We come back out and re-treat, as many times as the season takes. That is covered by the program — it is what buying one is supposed to mean.
We work about twenty minutes out from Suffield centre. Far enough to stay busy, close enough that driving back to re-treat a patch of clover is a small thing rather than a whole afternoon. Stretch a company across three counties and that return visit quietly becomes something you have to argue for. See the full service area.
The least profitable thing we do is talk somebody out of a program. But if a lawn is more than about half weeds, or the grass is fundamentally wrong for the light and soil it is sitting on, another season of applications is an annuity for us and a disappointment for you.
In that case we quote the renovation instead — and if you would rather live with it another year, we will say that too.
